Congratulations to former student Spencer Darby, who has begun studies at the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide. We will watch your progress with interest. Congratulations also to student Nach Kanganatanasate, who gave her first solo recital on April 19. The program included works by Purcell, Fauré, Grieg, Mozart and Quilter. The recital is the first of three that Nach will present this year as part of a Masters degree at Wesley Institute. I will be performing in May in Adelaide with pianist Maryleigh Hand as part of the Conference of Accompanists & Associate Artists. We will be presenting Fünfzehn Gedichte aus ‘Das Buch der hängenden Gärten’ by Schoenberg. Schoenberg’s Fünfzehn Gedichte aus ‘Das Buch der hängenden Gärten’ were composed in 1908. The work is atonal, but predates his twelve-tone method of composition.
